Yarrow boilers are an important class of high-pressure water-tube boilers. They were developed by Yarrow & Co. (London), Shipbuilders and Engineers and were widely used on ships, particularly warships. The Yarrow boiler design is characteristic of the three-drum boiler: two banks of straight water-tubes are arranged in a triangular row with a single furnace between them.
The nature of the facility’s operation will dictate whether a steam or hot water boiler should be used. Hot water is commonly used in heating applications with the boiler supplying water to the system at 180 °F to 220 °F. The operating pressure for hot water heating systems usually is 30 psig to 125 psig.
Condensing boilers reclaim that latent heat by condensing the water vapor and transferring its heat back into the return water, which increases boiler efficiency from 80% for conventional boilers (which may be considered exceptional for a conventional non-condensing boiler!) to on average 95% (see Fig. 1).
Today, B&W’s line of Heros industrial boilers represents more than 150 years of ingenuity and experience, all providing dependable performance for a wide range of industries and applications. Jun 10, 2017· Special features of water tube boiler: Water tube boilers have the high evaporating capacity (20,000 to 40,000 kg/h) compared with other boilers. The operating pressure lies between 11.5 to 17.5 bar. The draft losses are minimum. The defective tubes …
Jun 05, 2018· Comparison between Fire Tube and Water Tube Boiler can be done in 14 aspects. Those aspects are operating pressure, passage of material type in tubes, rate of steam generation, handling of load fluctuation, floor area requirement, efficiency, operator skills, design, maintenance cost are listed below in the tabular form.
OverviewA boilers capacity is usually expressed as kBtu/hour (1000 Btu/hour) and can be calculated as. W = (h g - h f) m (1) where . W = boiler capacity (Btu/h, kW) h g = enthalpy steam (Btu/lb, kJ/kg) h f = enthalpy condensate (Btu/lb, kJ/kg) m = steam evaporated (lb/h, kg/s) Boiler Horsepower - BHP. The Boiler Horsepower (BHP) is

May 02, 2020· A very modern water tube boiler designed with a steam capacity between 4,500-12,000 kg / hour, with very high pressure. Working of water tube boiler The ignition process occurs outside the pipe. The heat produced is used to heat a pipe containing water.
With pressure capacity up to 1500 psig and the ability to generate saturated or superheated steam, water tube boilers are commonly used throughout the power generation industry to drive turbines. "D" type watertube boilers are available from 10,000 PPH to over 500,000 PPH, with …
Mar 04, 2020· A water tube boiler is such kind of boiler where the water is heated inside tubes and the hot gasses surround them. This is the basic definition of water tube boiler. Actually this boiler is just opposite of fire tube boiler where hot gasses are passed through tubes which are surrounded by water.. Advantages of Water Tube Boiler. There are many advantages of water tube boiler due to which
not need high maintenance, boiler tube, add-on devices if the boiler is designed for optimum flue gas velocities in the first place. Each boiler pass should be designed with a cross sectional area to achieve optimal flue gas velocity, which in turn maximizes heat transfer while also minimizing performance robbing soot build-up within the tubes.
